Metroid: The Complete Story Up to Dread by Nintendo Life

Nintendo Life puts out a lot of great stuff, and this video has all the Metroid lore you could want. It does contain heavy spoilers, so you probably don't want to watch it if you are trying to avoid spoilers for any of the games. I knew a lot of this lore already, but I learned so much more. I have played all of the 2D Metroid games but haven't played the 3D ones. This video goes into all the details, even covering the manga, which I still need to read. I hope to play all of the Metroid games someday, especially the Prime trilogy.
