I have loved Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings for over half my life. I would have to say that it is my favorite book. So when I first heard about Amazon Prime's new series, The Rings of Power, I was excited. This next video from the YouTube channel, Nerd of the Rings, talks a bit about the first two episodes of the series. As a bonus, it happens to be spoiler free.

I loved Peter Jackson's films, and it was said films that got me into the books. It reintroduced me to the magical world of Tolkien and Middle Earth. I had seen the 1977 animated version of the Hobbit, which was my first introduction. I remember fighting orcs and trolls with my buddy Mario afterward.

As a young adult, I fell in love with the fantasy world. I moved overseas to a country where I didn't speak the language. The Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Hobbit kept me company in that initial period. It could be part of the reason why I love these books so much. I had read them before, but rereading them in that period gave me a different appreciation. I was able to immerse myself more in the story than when I had read them previously. It is probably about time to read it for the third time, or at least listen to the BBC Radio drama.

I watched the first episode of the Rings of Power a couple of weeks ago, and I loved it. I wasn't sure how it would be before seeing it, but I was pleasantly surprised. It is visually stunning! I can't wait to see what the show will bring in the future. Some people hate the show, but if you have not watched it yet, I suggest you do and decide for yourselves.
